In their first home league game of the year the host Mariners overcame a poor start to roar back in the 2nd half and pull away.
In the game played at Fundy High on Dec. 1 a handful of fans for each team watched a very competitive basketball game. Early on the game lacked some competitive fire as both teams seemed happy to walk up and down the floor looking to do simple things. As the game moved towards halftime the pace of the game picked up and both teams started attacking hard on both ends of the floor. At the half the Mariners were down 30-29.
In the second half the Mariners seemed to find their scoring touch and brought better energy on their home floor behind the strong play of Ashton Bradford and Dylan Hall on the offensive and defensive end with solid rebounding and in the score book. With a comfortable lead going into the 3rd quarter the Mariners spent most of the 4th working in players who had seen limited action up until that point. The vikings tried to take advantage playing hard up until the final whistle. The final score was 70-64 for the home team.
Leading scorers for Fundy were Ashton Bradley with 20 and Dylan Hall with 18. Jeremy Miller answered for the Vikings with 33 in the first 3 quarters before fouling just before the 4th.
